Description
English: Part 2 of a two-part panel in Ciulinul, the conservative Romanian magazine. Satirical etching showing politicians who had taken part in the August 1870 liberal conspiracy known as "Republic of Ploiești" groveling before King Carol I (whose face is replaced by a crown). Figures depicted include Alexandru Candiano-Popescu, the chief conspirator, here wearing the phrygian cap; C. A. Rosetti; Gheorghe Chițu; and Ion Brătianu. See also Part 1.
