English: This creased image (taken on 14 March 1919 at Châtelet, Belgium) is a group portrait of the (post-war) Educational Instructors of the First Australian Field Ambulance, who operated as part of delivery of the academic, practical, and vocational training offered within the formal A.I.F Education scheme, that had been instituted by Rt. Rev. George Merrick Long, Anglican Bishop of Bathurst (former headmaster of Trinity Grammar, Melbourne) in May 1918. The scheme, was designed to equip all members of the A.I.F. with the remedial training, experience, skills, abilities, and/or qualifications that would significantly increase their capacity to re-enter the civilian workforce (often in entirely different professions from those in which they were engaged on enlistment).
