Description
English: Virginia City, Nevada, USA, Chollar Mansion - the Chollar Mine office and the residence of the original mine superintendent, William Chollar (short history states it was built between 1861-1863). The sign says "565 South D Street, Chollar Mansion, Mine Office and Residence, Est. 1861"; however, the National Register of Historic Places document states that construction began in 1862 and was completed in 1864 (see page 7 of the NRHP registration which is also found in the reference number link below).
