English: The U.S. Navy survey ship USS Leonidas underway on 22 April 1914. Leonidas had been recommissioned on 1 April 1914, and sailed from the Portsmouth Navy Yard in Kittery, Maine (USA), via Boston, Massachusetts, to survey the coast of Panama. From 1918–1922, Leonidas served as a destroyer tender, later designated "AD-7".
