The district is roughly bounded by Martin Luther King, Jr. Avenue (on west); Good Hope Road (on north); 16th Street; Fendall Street; V Street; 15th Street and the Frederick Douglass National Historic Site; Maple View Place, in SE quadrant of Washington, DC. Comprises approximately 20 squares and about 550 buildings built between 1854 and 1930
