Description
English: Andrew J. Winn, born in Brunswick County, Virginia, about 1838, and later moved to Henry County, Virginia. He enlisted as a soldier in the Confederate Army on June 22, 1861, in Henry County. He served in Company F, 42nd Virginia Infantry. Wounded at the Battles of Kernstown, Virginia, Chancellorsville and Spotsylvania Courthouse, Winn ultimately died of his last wound after being captured by Northern forces and getting a field dressing on May 12, 1864. He likely died within days, and his grave site is unknown.
