English: Armley House, Gotts Park, Upper Armley Originally built in 1781 as a villa with a big canted bay, Benjamin Gott the owner of Armley Mill then purchased the estate in 1803 and went to Humphrey Repton for advice on remodelling the house and grounds, eventually in 1816 hired Robert Smirke to do the work on the house which he did in the Grecian Style.
