DescriptionArt Deco Cinema-Bingo Hall, Penel Orlieu - Mount Street - geograph.org.uk - 212456.jpg
English: Cinema/Bingo Hall, Penel Orlieu/Mount Street, Bridgwater, Somerset. This Streamline Moderne Art Deco cinema was designed by T Cecil Howitt and built in 1936. The stub pillars atop the tower formerly supported a roof like that on the tower of the Odeon, Weston-super-Mare.
Opened as an Odeon, it has since been a Classic and a Cannon. Classic split the auditorium into two with the cinema entrance (now Scott Cinema) in Mount Street to the right. The main auditorium building can just be seen behind the tower façade.
