English: Article from the 16 September 1906 Puget Sound American issue (page 16) describing recent "Hindu" immigration to Bellingham, Washington.

The term "Hindoo" or "Hindu" back then as used by some newspapers broadly referred to South Asians/Desis. Newspapers of the day weren't particularly accurate at parsing minority identities or ethnicity. The men depicted in the illustrations appear to be Sikhs.
