    Summary

    Description
English: This figure depicts potential methods of assisted gene flow (in pink) contrasted with potential methods of assisted migration (in yellow) on a climactic/geographic gradient (left) and an elevational gradient (right). Arrows represent a managed movement from source population to target population; assisted gene flow moves within the species' range while assisted migration moves beyond the species' range. Different colors of tree clusters represent different locally adapted populations. Note that this figure does not represent all possible assisted gene flow management plans such as sourcing from multiple populations, using elements of ex situ conservation, or combination with other conservation techniques.
