Summary

Description Athens, Agora. Doric column drums of the late 5th century B.C. with mason's marks (ΒΒΒΒ, ΓΓΓΓ) of the Roman period, reused in the post-Herulian wall south of the Stoa of Attalos. The columns originally formed part of the "Double Stoa" at Thorikos in southeastern Attica; they were brought to Athens in the early Roman period and reused in the Southwest Temple in the Athenian Agora; and finally built into the post-Herulian wall after A.D. 267.
