Description
English: Artificially shaped skull (presumably Migrations Period, from Crimea), but in all probability not from Avar! The picture, embedded in the article "Makrokephalie", is explained as artificially shaped Avar skull. The text mentions, regarding the picture, skull finds from Crimea, which "were assumed to originate from the Avars or Huns". This interpretation is doubtful an based on unsufficient knowledge in 1889. Skull deformations are not common any more in Avar times.
