English: Bankside Cottage, Bankside St Central Auckland. The land was originally purchased in 1845 by Henry Keesing. He built the original cottage in 1848. Keesing sold the land and cottage in 1880. The current cottage was built in the 1880's the cottage was bought by Hancock & Co. Ltd, breweries in the mid 1930's. Hancock's were the proprietors of the Grand Hotel next door facing Princes St. From the 1930's the cottage was used to accommodate Grand Hotel staff. It was restored when the Grand Hotel was demolished and incorporated into the new development.
