English: Lymington Pier - Waterloo express entering Basingstoke.
View westward on the ex-LSWR London etc. - West of England main lines. Only on Summer Saturdays was it necessary to run complete trains for Isle of Wight passengers via Lymington Pier (branch from Brockenhurst). Here Maunsell 'Schools' V class 4-4-0 No. 30937 'Epsom' (built 6/35, withdrawn 12/62) heads one of these. Basingstoke Locomotive Depot is on the right, the West Yard on the left.
