The line from Edinburgh to Bathgate reopened to passengers in March 1986 after several years of closure, and this photo was taken nine months later. As part of the further extension of the line as far as Airdrie (due for compeltion in 2010) Bathgate station will be relocated, so this 'interim' station wil have had a life of less than 25 years.
Update (12 December 2010):
This station closed on 16 October 2010, to be replaced with a new station to the east.
