Der Altbau entstand 1870-1871 als Wohnhaus nach einem Entwurf von Friedrich Hitzig und wurde 1910-1911 durch Paul Baumgarten d.Ä. umgebaut. Seit 1920 nutzte es die Schweizerische Botschaft, die hier seit einer modernen Erweiterung durch die Baseler Architekten Diener & Diener aus den Jahren 1999-2001 wieder residiert.
English: The Swiss Embassy at Otto-von-Bismarck-Allee No. 4 in Berlin-Tiergarten. Its historic part was constructed from 1870 to 1871 to a design by Friedrich Hitzig as a residential building; it was altered from 1910 to 1911 by Paul Baumgarten senior. The building served as Swiss Embassy since 1920. A modern annex was constructed to a design by the architects Diener & Diener from Basel from 1999 to 2001.
