Summary

Description
English: Bharata Lila is a 150 year-old folk art of the Ganjam district of Odisha. It narrates the story of Subhadra and Arjuna from the Mahabharata while deviating into various sub-plots. The chief narrator is the duari, a character who is the doorkeeper of Arjuna. It is the duari who binds the various episodes together and keeps the audience's attention focussed on the play.
