Summary

Description The image shows the picture of Biren Roy with Adolf Hitler. The photo was shot in 1936 when Biren Roy attended World Congress of Municipal Administrators in Berlin in 1936. Biren Roy was a distinguished freedom fighter of Bengal who is said to have flown Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose on secret missions. He was the founder of Behala Flying Club (BFC), the first air training institute in eastern India, in 1928. He was also great philanthropist and had worked for the development Behala area of Kolkata City. The name of the road 'Biren Roy Road' is named after him.
