DescriptionBootle Oriel Road Station 1855301 3e0ab05a.jpg
English: Bootle Oriel Road Station.
View northward from by Miller's Bridge; ex-L&Y (electrified) Liverpool Exchange - Southport line. The two extra tracks on the left are the Goods lines from Bankfield (closed 4/1/65), which joined the electric lines just beyond Oriel Road. Out of sight just below, the ex-LNW Bootle Branch (Edge Hill - Alexandra Dock)(still open!) ran underneath, immediately to the north of Bootle Balliol Road station (closed 31/5/48). (This was when Liverpool was still a great Port, with all its numerous Docks and myriad connecting railways - so totally different now).
