We still have a few of these that still work. They are nearly as old as we are.
For those unfamiliar with them : there's a small conventional incandescent bulb in the bottom which heats up the colored liquid in the sealed glass tube. The liquid boils at the bottom (closest to the heat source) bubbles rise to the top where they condense again into liquid state.
