For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.  Leipzig, Unterricht für vietnamesische Studenten
Zentralbild Schmidt 16.4.1958 Vietnamesische Studenten studieren in der Deutschen Demokratischen Republik. Das Kulturabkommen, das zwischen der Deutschen Demokratischen Republik und der Demokratischen Republik Vietnam abgeschlossen wurde, ermöglicht 18 Söhnen und Töchtern vietnamesischer Arbeiter und Bauern, in der DDR zu studieren. Sie sind im Internat des Instituts für Ausländerstudium in Leipzig untergebracht und lernen zunächst die deutsche Sprache, um sich dann im Studium in Chemie, Mathematik, Physik, Biologie, Gesellschaftswissenschaft und Sport Fachwissen anzueignen.
