DescriptionButterley railway station 1956186 ce2e7ab4.jpg
English: Butterley Station (remains).
View westward, towards Ambergate, also Ripley; ex-Midland, Ambergate, and Derby via Ripley - Pye Bridge lines. This station, which is now the headquarters of the heritage Midland Railway (Butterley), lost its regular passenger services first on 1/6/30 from Derby via Ripley, then on 16/6/47 from Ambergate and Pye Bridge. Goods traffic lasted until 1968 - and evidently the station was still being cared for in 1963. After eight years of restoration work, passenger trains were restored along the line to Swanwick on 22/8/81 and the Centre is now a great attraction
