English: Lt. Col. Brian Childes (left) briefs Lt. Col. Bob Beabout (pilot and Major John Mitchell (right) on a sortie to Sabine Lake, Texas. Civil Air Patrol pilots from across the nation came to West Houston Airport to support the assessment of Hurricane Rita's impact. This was the second day of flight operations after the Texas CAP was requested to begin operations in Houston. By the end of 26 Sept., they completed 50 sorties, providing photo reconnaissance of potential damage and oil spills, traffic congestion, flood assessment and live multi-spectral imagery for state and federal agencies.
