Date of publication 1995 (earliest known)
Use in article (WP:NFCC#7) M8 Armored Gun System
Purpose of use in article (WP:NFCC#8) To illustrate the early design of the CCVL.
Not replaceable with
free media because
(WP:NFCC#1)
This is the only image I've ever seen of the CCVL mockup. It is very likely that FMC destroyed the vehicle. It will be impossible to reproduce an accurate free model of the vehicle based on one photograph.
Minimal use (WP:NFCC#3) The file is being used in compliance with the principle of minimal use, which means that only the portion of the file that is necessary to achieve the intended purpose is being used. In this case, only a single image of the vehicle is being used, and it is not being used in any way that would detract from the commercial value of the original image.
Respect for
commercial opportunities
(WP:NFCC#2)
While its unknown who owns the copyright, or indeed who took the photo, it is likely that FMC published the photo to market the vehicle. FMC's (or BAE's) commercial interest lies in marketing the vehicle, not licensing old photos.
