Summary
| Description |
Nederlands: Repronegatief. Net als bij rubber was de ontwikkeling van de auto een belangrijke motor achter de enorme groei van de petroleumwinning. Zelfs tijdens de Depressie van de jaren '30 bleef de groei voortgaan. De olie werd van de bronnen via pijpleidingen geleid naar de verwerkingsplaatsen, waaronder Pangkalan Brandan (foto). De petroleumwinning en -verwerking in de Archipel waren bijna helemaal in handen van de Bataafsche Petroleum Maatschappij, een dochtermaatschappij van de Koninklijke/Shell Groep. Een alliantie die in 1907 tot stand kwam en nog steeds bestaat. 'De Koninklijke' was een machtig lichaam dat de latere premier H. Colijn onder zijn medewerkers telde. Let op de Sikh op de foto. (P.
