Description
English: Capt. Edward Lyon Buchwalter (June 1, 1841–1933)(Portrait shot) was a Union Captain in the American Civil War, farmer, corporate figure and banker. He served in the 114th Ohio Infantry as lieutenant, later Captain of the 53rd Mississippi Colored Volunteers Infantry under General Sherman and General Grant. He was President of Superior Drill Company, President of American Seeding Machine Company and first President of The Citizens National Bank of Springfield, Ohio. Married to Marilla Andrews. This copy was made from my original photograph and contributed here by J.Guy George, great, great grandnephew of said subject. Photo Circa 1890's. J.Guy George/April 14, 2012.
