English: The Captain's House at Coyote Point is one of the surviving structures from 1942, when the site was used for basic training of merchant marine sailors during World War II. At that time, it was named the Commandant's House and served as the residence for the school's commanding officer. After the San Mateo Junior College moved to the site in 1947, the residence was occupied by President Elon Hildreth starting from 1952 and named the President's House.
