Summary

Description
English: Cerney Wick Lock, Thames & Severn Canal The lock was partially restored by voluntary effort during the 1980's. The aim is to eventually restore the canal to a navigable state between its junction with the Gloucester Ship Canal and Lechlade, where it joins the River Thames. However, it is likely to be many years before this section is navigable. The current priority is in the Stroud area, where large scale funding has been obtained for the full restoration of one substantial section of canal. In the distance on the right can be glimpsed the Roundhouse. Now in private ownership, this was originally a house provided by the original canal company for the lock-keeper. Its distinctive and unique style was repeated at several locations along the canal.
