Description: The United States Government built a lighthouse of brick, which stood on the edge of the bluff overlooking Chatham Bay. The lighthouse fell into the sea when the tides and rains undermined the cliff. From the present Lighthouse, which was built about 200 yards farther inland and which is electrically lighted, a vast panorama of the ocean may be seen.
