DescriptionChristmas flood of 1964-65 (15366998573).jpg
After heavy snowfall residents in Washington, Oregon, northern California and parts of Nevada and Idaho watched warmer air from the Pacific Ocean cause heavy rainfall. The result was one of the worst floods in the Pacific Northwest records. This aerial view is looking northeastwards towards Oregon City, with the river level so high that Willamette Falls was temporarily almost eliminated. Just below the center of the photo, one can see downtown Oregon City and the tower of the Oregon City Municipal Elevator.
