English: Clinton Dugald MacDougall ( June 14, 1839 - May 24, 1914) was a United States Representative from New York. Born near Glasgow, he immigrated to Canada in 1842 with his parents, who later settled in Auburn. He pursued an academic course, studied law, and engaged in banking from 1856 to 1869. He was commissioned captain in the Seventy-fifth Regiment, New York Volunteer Infantry on September 16, 1861; lieutenant colonel of the One Hundred and Eleventh Regiment, New York Volunteer Infantry, August 20, 1862; colonel January 3, 1863; and brevetted brigadier general of Volunteers February 25, 1865. He was honorably mustered out on June 4, 1865. In 1869 he was appointed postmaster of Auburn.
Mathew Brady died in 1896 and Levin C. Handy died in 1932. Photographs in this collection are in the public domain in the United States as works published before 1929 or as unpublished works whose copyright term has expired (life of author + 70 years).
