Here is the "other" Palafoxia species that lives in my area. I found several blooming on a windy morning at Jonathan Dickinson State Park, Martin County, in the moist pine flatwoods. This Coastalplain palafox (Palafoxia integrifolia) is beautiful and more delicate than its cousin, Feay's palafox. Insects enjoy them both.
