L'adjudant général Gérard, qui a franchi le Tessin en barque et ne dispose que de quelques centaines d'hommes, va défendre pendant plusieurs heures le village et le pont de Turbigo, attaqués par les 5 000 Autrichiens de Laudon. Dégagé par l'arrivée de la division Monnier, il reste définitivement maître de cette position capitale.

Warrant Officer General Gérard, who crossed Ticino by boat and has only a few hundred men, will defend for several hours the village and the bridge of Turbigo, attacked by the 5,000 Austrians of Laudon. Cleared by the arrival of the Monnier division, he remains definitively master of this capital position.
