English: "Over the last ten days we have flown in 16 flights of aid. It is a mixture of thousands of blankets, tarpaulins, sleeping mats, cooking sets and soap. With this people who have fled their homes can ward off the respiratory and waterborne diseases that are so common here. We need to turn these loose items into 27,000 family kits to cover 135.000 people. To do this we called in a warehouse manager flew in from our supply division in Copenhagen, 48 hours later and the day before the first flight he was here and setting up a kitting line. We are now producing 1.000 kits a day that are being passed on to our implementing partners for immediate distribution." - author |
