Notice that:
- There is redness around the nasal passage; subject reported general allergic symptoms.
- The image of the flash appears as a horizontal white blob in the pupil. That part of the eye is obviously sloping away from the viewer. Two identical flash images appear in the inflamed conjunctiva, indicating similar angles of incidence there due to the swelling. In a normal eye, the flash image in the pupil would be the only one.
