English: Cottages at Lepe The entrance to the Beaulieu River. The white building in the foreground is The Watch House, which has a prominent view over much of the western Solent. It was built to watch for smuggling. The Customs Officers were housed in the coastguard cottages behind, which lie back from the shoreline.
