English: REBEL COLORS.— The rebels of Cuba and their filibustering, piratical friends, have adopted a flag consisting of red and blue stars, with a white ground in one corner surmounted with a lone star. -Marysville Daily Appeal, Volume XVIII, Number 152, 27 December 1868 (guessing the stars was 15 for the provinces, and the pattern scattered is also a guess)
