Summary

Description
English: A basic view of the layout of a deflecting beam type torque wrench. This particular type is best known as the type invented by the Australian Warren and Brown company.

In essence it is a simple beam type torque wrench, however the non deflecting beam is angled and fitted with a captive pin and trigger mechanism. The deflecting beam is fitted with a graduated scale and wedge which is adjusted to the desired torque. Once the torque is met the wedge pushes the pin trigger and this leads to the pin being sprung out of the beam with an audible click.
