Description

Ernest Richard Hawes was born in Bishop Burton on 17 September 1895, the fifth son of George and Emma Hawes. He joined the Army Service Corps as a Driver and was attached to the East Lancashire Division. Driver Ernest Richard Hawes was killed in the Suez Canal area in Gallipoli and was buried at sea on 25 August 1915.
