English: EDWIN J. SCHOETTLE was an American entrepreneur and sailor who developed 525-533 N. 11th Street. The building was designed by architect Charles Klauder. Turner Concrete Company constructed the building in 1916. It was the first pre-cast concrete structure in Philadelphia. <ref name "Silent Maid A Catboat History by Ken Mountford". THE BUILDING IS ALSO KNOWN AS INDEPENDENCE PRESS. THE BUILDING NOW APPEARS EMPTY AND DETERIORATING
