English: Motion of the Earth (blue, with cyan orbit) and the Moon (black, with grey orbit) around the Sun (the direction to which is indicated with yellow stripes of angular width 3 arcminutes).
Positions are shown with intervals of one day for thirteen days around first quarter. For clarity the sizes of Earth and Moon are exaggerated. Correct relative dimensions are shown below. A white cross indicates the position of the center-of-mass of the Earth-Moon system. The orbit of the Moon around the Sun is at any time concave towards the Sun.Deutsch: Bewegung der Erde (Blau, mit turkisfarbige Bahn) und des Mondes (Schwarz, mir grauer Bahn) rund um die Sonne (deren Richtung mit gelben Streifen mit enter Winkelöffnung von 3 Bogenminuten angezeigt ist).

Korrekte Grössenverhältnisse sind unten gezeigt. Ein weisses Kreutz gibt den Schwerpunkt des Systems Erde-Mond an.
