Edward Clinton (or Fiennes), 9th Lord Clinton (1512–1584/85), followed a long military career. He attended Henry VIII at Boulogne and Calais in 1532, and was later Captain of Boulogne, Lord High Admiral, and Constable of the Tower. He was created Earl of Lincoln in 1572.
