Description
On shallower other parts of the Lys river, the cows could cross on foot, on fords, as well as horses and carts and locally or sometimes some pedestrians. Here Lys is too deep, the animals are accompanied by a boat. Today, the banks with concrete or sheet pile prevent such crossings, and are channeled parts of the river a fragmentation factor more important than it 's once was.
