Summary

Description
English: Different errors can occur when TLS DNA Polymerase insert over a lesion. A) Misincorporation of base: in this case, a mismatched cytosine(blue) is inserted to pair with an adenine(asterisk). B)Slippage: An extra adenine is inserted into the sequence, creating a bulge in DNA. C)Hairpin in sequence: small inverted sequences can form hairpins that block themselves from being replicated. In this case the polymerase passes by the hairpin in replication, and the nascent sequence is matched back to the flattened DNA parent strand, even though the hairpin is never replicated. This can cause a large number of mutations.
