English: Coat of arms of the Colombian Air Force. Color blue in the coat of arms is distinctive of the aviation arm and connotes the sky, truth, loyalty and beauty. It also represents the skies of Colombia.
The wings are a reminder of Icarus' whose wings melted down by getting too close to the sun. This can be taken as the importance of preparedness.
The red eagle (Gules eagle) represents spirit and bravery. At the bottom the motto in latin reads Sic itur ad astra, a quote from Virgil's book Aeneid which means "On this way there it goes to the heights"
