MEANING :

The shield is divided into four sections that show :

1. The first section reflects DARK GREEN colored bull head showing the richness of our fields. Two . The second section of da BLUE in our vast and outstanding culture of our ancestors lies and customs that persist today. Three . The third section on YELLOW clearly shows that daily sport practice such as coleus , among other sports. April . The fourth section of CLARO color reminds us of the great history of our people such as Simon Bolivar step with the Creoles who got independence in the Boyacá Bridge , also Dr. Salvador Camacho Roldán effort and work that leaves us good teaching.

In the upper part :

A rising sun with seven pointed them to highlight the name of the municipality .

Two horses rampant black color that give great impetus and sample work of burrowing . Above them a silver cross bordered in black shows and give meaning to our religion .

At the bottom :

A red Blazon praying JUSTICE and FREEDOM which highlights the national emblem that reads "Liberty and Order " .

Both left and right , two poles pointing towards the celestial space holding a flag of green and blue. Blue shows our great water wealth watering the fields green color means its forest wealth and diversity of species that live with them .

1. En el campo verde una cabeza de toro vista de frente. 2. En el campo azul un arpa de cedro, unos capachos entrecruzados y un sombrero frente al arpa. 3. En el campo amarillo dos manos que sostienen un balón. 4. En el campo de color claro un pedestal de cabeza aguda.

Un sol de site puntas de color naciente. Dos caballos de color negro inclinados con sus manos alzadas. Una cruz de plata bordada de color negro. al lado derecho e izquierdo dos banderas de color negro y azul.

SIGNIFICADO:

El escudo está dividido en cuatro secciones que manifiestan:

1. La primera sección de color VERDE OSCURO refleja una testa de toro que muestra la riqueza de nuestros campos. 2. La segunda sección de color AZUL da lugar a nuestra basta y sobresaliente cultura que radica de nuestros ancestros y costumbres que persisten hasta hoy. 3. La tercera sección de color AMARILLO encendido muestra con claridad el deporte que a diario practicamos como lo son el coleo, entre otros deportes. 4. La cuarta sección de color CLARO nos recuerda el gran historial de nuestro pueblo como lo son el paso de Simón Bolívar junto con los criollos que nos dieron la independencia en el Puente de Boyacá, también el doctor Salvador Camacho Roldán que con esfuerzo y trabajo nos deja una buena enseñanza.

En la partes superior:

Un sol saliente con siete puntas que con ellas resaltan el nombre del municipio.

Dos caballos rampantes de color negro que dan muestra del gran ímpetu y trabajo del llanero. Sobre ellos una cruz de plata bordeados de color negro que significa y dan muestra a nuestra religión.

En la parte inferior:

Un blazón de color rojo que reza JUSTICIA y LIBERTAD que resalta el del escudo nacional que reza "Libertad y Orden".

Tanto a la izquierda como a la derecha, dos astas que apuntan hacia el espacio celeste que sostienen una bandera de color verde y azul. El azul muestra nuestra gran riqueza hídrica que riega los campos, el color verde significa su riqueza forestal y su diversidad de especie que conviven con ellas.
