Summary
DescriptionExercise Saif Sareea 3 RAF C-17.jpg |
English: Pictured is a Mk 6 RAF Chinook helicopter waiting inside a 99 Sqn RAF C-17 transport aircraft as the crew and movers begin the process of unloading it.
The multi-role RAF helicopter was loaded into the back of a RAF C-17 transport aircraft at RAF Brize Norton in the UK before making its direct flight to RAFO Musannah in Oman. The aircraft was joined by a further two RAF Chinooks that were then assembled at the RAFO Musannah Air Base by RAF Engineers. Once ready, they flew down to Eastern Oman to the Convoy Support Centre where they operated from start to finish in support of Exercise Saif Sareea 3. Exercise Saif Sareea brought 5,500 UK armed forces together with over 60,000 Omani troops, utilising Air, Sea and Land assets in the Bilateral training exercise in the Omani Desert. |
