  • Population Songye, République démocratique du Congo
  • Seconde moitié du 19e s.
  • Fer, bois, cauris, fibre végétale, patine sacrificielle
  • Statuette découverte en 1897 par le général Henry de la Lindi, qui rapporta qu'elle avait été abandonnée sur le champ de bataille lors d'un affrontement entre les forces belges et des rebelles locaux, parmi lesquels se trouvaient des guerriers songye.
  • Considérée comme trop "brûlante" du fait de ses pouvoirs surnaturels, elle ne pouvait être manipulée qu'à l'aide de tiges de fer articulées.
  • Musée africain de Namur
  • Objet présenté lors de l'exposition Frapper le fer. L'art des forgerons africains au musée du quai Branly Jacques Chirac
