Rationale of fair use in Five Leaves Left
editThe image Image:Five Leaves Left.jpg is being linked here; though the picture is originally copyright, I Coil00 21:35, 19 September 2006 (UTC) feel it is covered by fair use because:
- No free or public domain images have been located for this album.
- The image is of lower resolution than the original cover. Copies made from it will be of inferior quality, and could not be used as artwork on illegal CD copies of the single.
- The image does not limit the copyright owners' rights to distribute the album in any way.
- This is the artwork, intended by Island Records for wide distribution. As such, it has future historical significance, and is a more appropriate choice than any other image available.
- This image is used on various websites, so its use on Wikipedia does not make it significantly more accessible or visible than it already is. The cover is being used for informational purposes only, and its use is not believed to detract from the original album in any way.
