Summary

English: Dutch Prog-rock heros Focus brought their inimitable style of music and performance to The Apex just a few months after their HRH Prog appearance in Great Yarmouth. Not much had changed, including Thijs van Leer's leather coat!
Pierre van der Linden got two drum solos as usual and as usual, they were both awful. He's no Neil Peart. Great guitar work from Menno Gootjes again but once more the bass of Udo Pannekeet was way too high in the mix, booming and distorting badly in the first set. But it is This van Leer that shines of course, now 75 and still yodelling, playing the flute and getting the best from his well-travelled and rather battered Hammond organ! |
